Another Year to Learn

It might be too late for a New Year Resolution post thingy, plus most of my resolutions are nothing new: lose some weight, be healthy, pay the mortgage, read enough book to keep cultured, publish a book, spend more time with my loved ones and learn another language (I guess it will still be Spanish, jajaja *see, I know how to laugh in Spanish!*).

However, apart from the classics, I think this year I’ll take further steps of crossing one of the items on my bucketlist: to own a business / shop (of stuff I design, to be more specific). The decision was triggered by an offer of partnership from one of the hippest curated online marketplace even before I had products. Some people or other fellow artist slash entrepreneur might see it as nothing, but for me, I’m flattered. At that point I thought, “Okay, I’m so giving it a shot.”

So, I’m bringing ‘Fat Bunny’, my illustration as a brand for products. I want to give more chance for the part of me who appreciates art and visual enjoyment to grow and be loved. I hope that I can make people happy with my drawing because I find it as a way to be kind to universe; to thank God for the blessings :) Actually on the first week of this year I launched my first product following the Star Wars fever, which is “Star Wars x byputy” pins. It sold out within less than 5 days so I guessed that there are people out there who would buy my artwork. Now I’m in progress for my next collection and wish myself all luck!

I know it sounds like doing what everyone else is doing but indeed, I do dream ordinary dreams :) Last year I got a great lesson from Milk & Kisses: that you should not ask someone to make your dream come true: it must be you who is in charge, never let somebody else takes control of it.

Of course it’s not easy because I’m working full time and responsible for at least 8 hours each working day in the office. Life is full of choices and all is our own, though. I surely have been sleeping and hanging out less even with my closest friends. Of course it’s compensated by my excitement handling everything myself from the design to production, from packaging to the financial stuff, and even registering the patent!

Again, I’m learning a lot and will learn even more. Soooo…. Bismillah :)

Because overcoming the fear to fall is the only way to start walking.
